Editorial standards How we write our guides
Our guides are for Australian real estate agents who want to be found online under their own name. This page explains who writes them, where the facts come from, and what to do if you spot a mistake.
Who writes them
Guides are published by Real Agent Marketing, and the byline on each one is the company's. They're researched and drafted with AI writing tools, working to the rules on this page. We say so because you should know how the information you rely on was put together.
Where the facts come from
- Official sources only. Every rule, number, deadline and quote comes from an official or first-party source that was opened while the guide was written: state fair trading and consumer affairs regulators, the ACCC, ACMA, the OAIC, auDA, legislation websites, and the help pages of the platforms we write about (such as Google, Meta and LinkedIn).
- Cited at the end. Each guide lists its sources, so you can check them yourself.
- If it can't be confirmed, it's left out. We'd rather say less than guess.
What we don't do
- We don't invent statistics, testimonials, quotes or results. People in examples are clearly labelled samples, not real agents.
- We don't accept payment to mention or rank a product.
- We don't promise search rankings. Nobody can.
About our own products
We sell websites, domains and digital business cards for agents, so we have an interest in the topics we write about. Guides mention us briefly and factually, with prices only as our pricing page states them. When a guide compares providers, it uses each provider's own published information and says when it was checked.
Rules and legal topics
Guides about advertising rules, privacy or spam laws are general information, not legal advice. Rules differ between states and change over time, so check with your licensee or your state's regulator before relying on them.
Dates and updates
Each guide shows the date it was published and, when it has been revised, the date of the update. Rules guides also say when we read the rules they describe.
Corrections
If something in a guide is wrong or out of date, email hello@realagent.marketing with the guide's address and what needs fixing. We'll check it against the source and correct the guide.
